Introducing Girls Hub Exhibition, ‘A Seat at the Table‘.
The installation includes a portrait exhibition, and chairs displayed focusing on the stories of our diverse Girls Hub Builders and culture, while examining how art can activate ideas for both the maker and the audience. The impact of this installation provides people with ways to think critically about different approaches to activism and how you can use your voice to build your seat at the table. For the Builders- it just elevates their confidence and empowerment to the next level.
With these efforts, we want to create a space that offers our community members an opportunity to experience the heart, emotion empathy, care, and concern – all the content that grabs you and reminds you what being human is all about. We believe, that by doing so we can create an inclusive space for our community members to connect, communicate, collaborate, and contribute towards change, be present, and always with those we serve.
Young Women of Toledo - Girls Hub ‘A Seat at the Table’ (chairs exhibition) is funded in part by American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds allocated by the City of Toledo and the Lucas County Commissioners and administered by The Arts Commission.
