Daily, family members, friends and neighbors head to the frontlines to care for COVID victims, selflessly and honorably risking their own health for the sake of others.  Their unbridled service made us reflect on how we can engage our resources to further the fight.  By purchasing a t-shirt, you are not only conveying unified support, but also have a vehicle to give back to community organizations and groups that directly or indirectly support or have been affected by COVID-19.

Why & What are you supporting?

During COVID-19, many of our recurring monthly donors had to put a hold on their monthly monetary support which impacted our general and No Women Left Behind (NWLB) fund. Our NWLB efforts fund our 1:1 Technical Assistance or Discovery Coaching services that serve females in transition, start-ups and small women-owned businesses. And during this uncertainty this group is the most impacted the most. NWLB also supports and funds our small microgrants/scholarships to our Momentum Circle group (start-up and women owned businesses) during hardship. 

More than ever, we are receiving a 70% increase in requests for NWLB funds, resources, assistance, mentorship and peer support services the past 6 weeks compared to the month of February 2020. Despite this unprecedented uncertainty, we pivot our strategy to offer our community a FREE virtual Power Hour session so they can continue receiving resources, support and advise every Tuesday & Thursday so our female community can lean in with our organization for support and human connection. 

 Prior to COVID-19, nationally 1 out of 5 individuals suffered from loneliness and this number just increased dramatically during this time (Time magazine, Anxiety Edition 2020). One of the cures of loneliness, is finding a ritual that is intentional and repeated for individuals to be seen, heard and valued. One of the rituals is being a part of human connection activity or space. Intentionally with rapid repetition, Women of Toledo is providing the ritual by providing activities and space of this need for human connection. In other words, we are the anchor for connection.
