About the event
Overview: Since 2012, October 11 has been marked as the International Day of the Girl by the United Nations. The day aims to highlight and address the needs and challenges girls face, while promoting girls' empowerment and the fulfillment of their human rights.
This year partnering with Toledo American Association of University Women (AAUW), our Young Women of Toledo is inviting you to celebrate International Day of The Girls on Saturday, October 12th 2019.
This year, under the theme, “GirlForce: Unscripted and unstoppable, celebrate young women of Toledo who represent “GirlForce.” Be inspired by the accomplishments of young women who are unstoppable in making advances in STEM. Be motivated by the global journey of a young woman who lives a life unscripted. At 2019’s YWOT Big IDEA program, we will address the challenges girls face and empower them to achieve grand dreams.
