The first quarter of the year is always an exciting time for our team here at Women of Toledo. This is the season that our program task team shares our 2020 program schedule and begin conversations with our Program's Partners, Ambassadors & Supporters. We stay focused on our mission and engage in dialogues with many, many, many local businesses, especially women-owned businesses, for partnerships. Shout-out to all these partners & women owned businesses - Courtnay Cousino/SIP COFFEE, Lori Jacobs/Cake in a Cup, and Aalaa Eldeib/So Sweet for hosting our Momentum Circle this season. Our participants also begin to follow and see the patterns as they grab our program schedule and comment "Coffee, desserts & sweets...what a treat" . The outreach continues as our team became aware of more and more women-owned businesses in the area. Word of mouth is still the best and powerful tool for any marketing strategy. We are exploring, connecting and collaborating. Next stop for Speed Mentoring - The Leaf and Seed with Susan HerHold and Maddie &Bella with Trisha Darr. Vegan mood, anyone? You can help too #419Women. If you own or know any local businesses or women-owned businesses that are interested in hosting our group, please help us make that connection by contacting our Task Team via email at hello@womenoftoledo.org or ping us and the business on social media. Because you, me and everyone knows.... that " You will do better in Toledo". |

Introducing Partner: The Matriots Endorsing ∙ Supporting ∙ Encouraging The Matriots is a nonpartisan political action committee based in Columbus, Ohio. Our members are women and men: Democrats, Republicans, and independents; Ohioans and out-of-staters. It was founded in May of 2017 by a group of women who participated in the Women’s March on Washington. Moved by the tremendous outpouring of support that day for American women and their issues, the Ohio marchers decided to launch an effort to put more women into political leadership to ensure economic justice and advance policies impacting the lives of Ohio women. Their mission: To elect more Ohio women to public office who will promote a healthy economy in which women can thrive and prosper. | | |

And for every person not counted in the Census, it will cost our state $1,814 per year, per person for 10 years. And since the Census Bureau derives gender-specific data from several surveys and the decennial census and produces many reports that contain data on women. Introducing our latest initiative, HerHub - an online platform that provides the Northwest Ohio community with women-centered events, listings of the local women-owned businesses, women’s groups and organizations. Why HerHub: We want to continue to educate, engage and empower you in any capacity we can. However, we do believe we can do anything, but NOT everything. Hence, if we are unable to serve and support you, we want to help you find the right opportunities, resources and businesses to connect and grow, from personal or professional development to volunteer to advocacy to shop local and women-owned. |
By providing this resource, we hope to enhance and elevate the visibility of the existing women's groups, women owned businesses and events by building a large network of women to promote activities and businesses through a one-stop-shop. In addition, with Women of Toledo as the conveyor, our goal is to also reduce duplication and scheduling conflicts among women's activities to enhance collaboration efforts, partnerships, activity attendance and resources. We are looking to strengthen the local economy through marketplace and workplace by connecting our female communities to the right networking and development opportunities, as well as promote and support female-owned businesses |
